Celebrating 100 years

We are celebrating 100 years of vigilance and service to the community.

Well our big celebrations happened on October 12th, 13th & 14th 2012. We had over 250 people attend the official luncheon at Panorama House Bulli Tops. People travelled some great distances to be there including America, England, North Queensland, Northern Territory, Queensland, Southern & Northern NSW. Members from at least 4 other clubs such as Cronulla were also in attendance.

On the 12th (Friday night from 6pm) there was many a story told amongst members at Bulli Workers Club in a meet & greet warm up event. Over 150 people attended this night with a display of memorabilia set up in the glass cabinet foyer area as you enter Bulli Workers Club.

On the 13th (Saturday) the official luncheon took place at Panorama House, Bulli Tops. Buses took people from Bulli Workers Club to Panorama House. Invited guests in attendance included Graham Ford (President Surf Life Saving Australia), Michael Bate (Surf Life Saving NSW Surf Sports Director), Bill Seay (President Surf LIfe Saving Illawarra), Graham Annesley (NSW Minister for Sport & Recreation), Lee Evans (State Member for Heathcote), Sharon Bird (Federal Member for Cunningham), Gordon Bradbery (Lord Mayor Wollongong City). Speeches to a minimum, 4 hour DVD of club photos showing the history of the club, it was a great time to remember, reflect and enjoy the company of people that were there. Celebrations continued well into the night at Bulli Workers Club.

On the 14th (Sunday) and a few had heavy heads made their way to Bulli Surf Life Saving Club to particpate in a recovery BBQ & some special activities of old type of events including chariot races, whelbarrow races were displayed by our rookie lifesavers (U13-U17). A few bravely battled through the last 3 days and were seen heading back to Bulli Workers Club for a quiet ale or two!

3 days of great memories, stories, meeting old mates, all with the proud tradition of being involved with Bulli Surf Life Saving Club.
