Taylor girls selected in NSW Talented Athlete Program

Congratulations to sisters Kiah Taylor & Mali Taylor on gaining selection in the 2011/2012 NSW Surf Life Saving Talented Athletes Program for this coming season. They have been selected as part of a strong 44 squad from U/13’s to U15’s from the 11 Branches along the New South Wales Coast and will be a part of the program in the disciplines of ski, board, swim, beach and pool rescue. The program aims to provide athlete's with development pathways for Surf Sports in NSW, it will also improve athlete education and retention, improve technique, skills and performance of athletes and exposure to elite performance specialist coaching. This program is the base for our younger surf sports athletes and is the key to continual improvement of the standard of Surf Sports in NSW.

The Talented Athlete Program will be held in the school holidays between 5-7 October, 2011 at Sydney Academy of Sport, Wakehurst Parkway Narrabeen. The program will include training sessions with state coaches, analysing technique and improving skills across all disciplines. The program will also consist of athlete education sessions in nutrition, recovery and training techniques. The program will expose athletes to the most experienced and successful coaches in NSW.

Well done to both girls as they raced strongly & consistantly all last year including gaining selection in the 2010 Illawarra Branch Surf Sports Team that contested the NSW Inter-Branch Championships.
