Bulli Surf Life Saving Club

Bulli SLSC prides itself on its fun family environment where all kids have a fair go. Nippers is open to all kids between the ages of 5-14 years. Please note children must have obtained the age of 5 years by the 30th of September before they can become a Nipper member. However, a child may commence after they have attained the age of 5 years but under SLSA requirements must stay in the U6s age group for the following year.

Our goal is to encourage our Nippers to have fun and learn how to stay safe on our beautiful beaches as well as to provide the opportunity to train and compete in surf sports.

Nippers is held at Bulli SLSC on Sunday mornings from 9.00 am for around an hour and a half and and runs from October to March.

The Bulli Nippers program includes lessons that are tailored to each of the nipper age groups, ensuring the content is relevant, in line with lifesaving and surf sports most up to date training standards and most of all … fun! Activities range from beach sprints, riding nipper boards, flags, fun games and activities, as well as education on water and beach safety.

Surf education is gradually introduced to the kids each year with the objective that at the age of 13 they can obtain their Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC), which enables them to start patrolling our beach.

Nipper parents are required to stay with their kids during Nipper sessions and are encouraged to get involved in activities and provide support through water safety, set-up and our weekly fund-raising BBQ.

Please note:  Bulli SLSC requires that at least one parent or guardian join as a "General" member with all Nipper members.
