Scott Gordon wins Major Award at Presentation Night

Close to 130 members and supporters attended Bulli Workers Club last Saturday night (13 July) for our Annual Presentation Night.

Scott Gordon won the major award on the night being acknowledged as the 'John Bruton Memorial’ Club Person of the Year.

This season he performed 126.75 hours of patrol & is a 100% patrol attendance member. And these are the hours that are recorded!

 

Scott Gordon has now become one of the corner stone’s of Bulli. He is very passionate about his roles with the club & branch and is great role model for all surf life saving members. He is one of the hardest working members at Bulli Surf Life Saving Club.

 

Scott was involved in all facets of club activities, he is the current Junior Club Captain at the club, he attended junior management meetings, club lifesaving meetings, fundraising and social events.

 

Positions he held at club level were;

  • Junior Club Captain
  • Member of Junior Activities Management Committee
  • IRB/ATV Vice Captain
  • Patrol Captain
  • Member of Senior Education Team
  • Level 1 Surf Official

 

Positions he held at branch level included RWC Operator, Duty Officer & a member of the Patrol Audit Team.

Scott was also awarded the March 2013 Surf Life Saving Illawarra Rescue of the Month for his rescue of 2 people from the surf at Bulli Beach on Sunday 17 March 2013 in heavy seas.

To show his passion for the club he performed water safety duties at the 2013 NSW Junior Age Championships, 2013 NSW Open Championships and the 2013 Australian Championships, in excess of 50 hours, all at his own costs in travel & accommodation. Scott made arrangements to suit the clubs needs and put the club before family & work commitments.
