Surf Club Sportsman's Luncheon
175 people were in attendance at Bulli Workers Club for the 2010 Bulli Surf Club Sportsman's Luncheon on Friday 6 August.
What a great day with Steve Carfino as MC interviewing special guests Wayne Bennett, Wendell Sailor, Ryan Girdler & Craig Young. Ace McDermott entertained the crowd with his special brand of comedy & magic.
Many guests that were there on the day and had been to the previous luncheons believe it was the best line up of guest speakers assembled. In all it was a very sucessful day!
A big thankyou to Fosters Group Australia (Jean Flood) for helping on the day with some refreshments and heaps of raffle prizes plus of course our guest speakers who made themselves available for the day. Bulli members representing Australia
Seasoned veteran Downie Langthorne makes his 8th Australian Surf Life Saving Team. Downie has just been selected in the Rescue 2010 Australian Team that will compete in Egypt early October. He has now made consecutive World Championship teams (Rescue 2008 Germany). Downie has been putting in the hours recently in the pool, gym and on the ski in preparation for possibly his swansong in the green and gold colours. Well done big fella!
Also well done to Mitchell Fagerstrom & Sean White on making the Australian U21 Surf Life Saving Development Team that will travel to New Zealand in early October to contest the New Zealand Pool Rescue Championships. Both the guys made this team last year and are looking forward to some good results.
