Ashley Dribbus wins Gold at State Championships

Congratulations to Ashley Dribbus on her win in the U10 Female Sprint at the NSW Age Championships held this weekend at Kingscliff Beach, a great effort and just reward for her efforts throughout the year. Ashley also placed 5th in the U10 Female Beach Flags.

Abbey Dawson gained a 6th placing in the U13 Female Surf, her goal was to make the top 10 which she has never done before, so Abbey was quite excited.

The Champion Lifesaving events for seniors were also run over the weekend with Mikayla Morris placing 6th in the U19 Female Champion Lifesaver.

Well done to all of our nippers that raced over the weekend, with some making finals namely Kiah Taylor (U13 Iron-woman), Mali Taylor (U12 Iron-woman & Swim), Bridgette Lockhart (U14 Iron-woman), Riley Lord (U14 Male Swim), Zoe Dribbus (U9 Girls Swim), Coen Taylor (U8 Boys Wade) plus Bridgette Lockhart & Emma Brown (U14 Female Board Rescue) and of course Ashley Dribbus (U10 Female Sprint & Flags) and Abbey Dawson (U13 Female Surf).

Big thanks to Sean Taylor for towing the new craft trailer and all the family members that supported our kids over the weekend. I am sure everybody enjoyed the weekend.

Both Bridgette Lockhart & Riley Lord (winners of the Illawarra Junior Female & Male Lifesavers of the Year) qualified for the NSW award and spent a few days prior to the championships in the Gold Coast Hinterland at a camp. Unfortunately both winners came from the Mid North Coast branch, but from all reports our 2 enjoyed the experience.
