Kimberley Fleming & Tom Dewey win medals @ Aussies

Well the 2011 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships have been held on the Gold Coast at Kurrawa.

In surf conditions varying from 0.5m to 1.5m waves, dangerous shore dump, massive currents sweeping north and the normal two surf breaks, the skills of all surf sports athletes were put to the test. Weather conditions weren't too bad with rain periods on the first two days then fine weather with gusty southerly winds causing further challenges for boat, surf & beach athletes.

Well done to TOM DEWEY on placing 2nd in the U17 Male Beach Sprint & KIMBERLEY FLEMING on picking up two medals in the 40-44yrs Iron-woman (2nd) & 40-44yrs Female Single Ski (3rd).

Both Kimberley & Tom winning their first national medals.

A heap of our members also made finals and these results will be in another news story soon!
